Yes, okay, busted. I'm a fan. Gee, so are millions of other folks. No, we aren't close pals or anything, I'm a Christian, was never a "groupie," and we were never "involved," so please spare us both the embarassment of your asking me about that. I did work as a volunteer promoter through his label for a short time, and, if you check the links below, I will sometimes have information on how you can be, too! Yes, I've met him a few times, and so have lots of other folks--come to a few of these links and find more people who have, as well as loads of other fellow fans! Want the latest scoop on Robert Plant --what he's up to? Check the links below! I'll add things to this page on occasion if I find out about them before I see them posted on these sites--I listen to the radio too much for my own good. The recent tour was great, but rumor is that Robert will be back sometime soon (sometime this fall in a few big festivals--will keep you posted), and is currently working on a new album, due out sometime this spring, we hope! Last year's album, "Sixty-Six to Timbuktu", a compilation of solo material, was out on November 4th, so scoot to your local store or get online and get yourself a copy, and don't forget to get yourself a copy of the one before that--"Dreamland" if you don't already have a copy of this Grammy-nominated gem. Also check your local PBS station for the time in your area--Robert was on "Austin City Limits" November 9, 2002, and was again on February 28, 2004, so watch for it in your local listings. There was a new Led Zeppelin DVD and CD set that came out end of May last year--check your favorite recordings source for that one, too. Also, feel free to IM me with your Zep trivia questions--I'm always happy to chat with fellow fans, and can point you to places where you can find other fans to chat with as well.
http://buzztone.atlanticrecords.com/robert_plant/splash.asp--Just found this one--has some fun pictures and clips to promote Robert's newest album--"Sixty-Six To Timbuktu."
http://www.robertplant.com--Robert's new official fanclub site. It's been down since last year, but promises to have posting of the newest information in the near future. His label handles it, so maybe we'll see some updates once he finishes the new album. Meanwhile, I recommend Tight But Loose, Electric Magic or The Robert Plant Homepage below for more recent information.
http://pbs.org/klru/austin--check out when Robert will be playing on Austin City Limits in your area. Click on Robert for a cool bit on his episode (he gets the whole hour!) and on the Interviews section and Robert Plant there for an interview with him and the dudes of The Strange Sensation. Last known air date: February 28, 2004.
http://lzhistory.com/ --Steve Sauer's wonderful trivia site. The newsletter has been closed down, but it's still a fun place to go. A great way to answer all those burning questions you might have about Led Zeppelin, and probably one of the world's leading experts on the subject outside of the band itself.
http://www.hyperlaunch.com/robertplant/newstool.html--another fun site we've been spreading around the web. It's a promotional tool from Robert's PR firm. Be patient--it's slow to load, but worth it. Some great recent photos of Robert and the men of Strange Sensation, some contests to enter, news that is sometimes ahead of the official website, some nice interviews for album cuts from the new album, "Dreamland", and a few song snippets to enjoy.
Tight But Loose--a really great UK fan site. Lots of updates on his newest group, Robert Plant and Strange Sensation and his last one, The Priory of Brion. The latest gigs, reviews, recent photos, even some free music downloads, along with news of his other former bandmates, and their current and former bandmates. Great for Zep fans.
Electric Magic--another really good Led Zep site. Lots of breaking news, and sometimes, a step ahead of TBL.
Planet Zeppelin--Mostly Led Zep fans, but quite a few folks who actually go to great lengths to not only attend Robert's concerts, but have a very busy network of chats most nights on Yahoo, MSN and PalTalk. Get to know the more busy members, and it's easy to find someone to talk Zep to any night of the week. Lots of folks who have actually gotten to meet Robert over the years, and many lucky stiffs who actually posed for a picture with him.
The Robert Plant Homepage--great place for older Robert music downloads from his solo career, information on former bandmates, lyrics, pictures and more. Often has links the other sites haven't found, yet, and full of wonderful goodies fans will enjoy.
http://www.beadsoftime.com/--This website is an absolute scream. If you are a gal who really digs Robert, this site will feel like a second home. Lots of fan experiences of gals who have met him, nearly have, or hope to in the near future. Not recommended for male fans who get uncomfortable hearing gals drool over Robert.
The Zeppin'Hood--A new Led Zeppelin newsgroup and fan site that is, for the most part, troll-free. I'm the co-moderator of the Music Discussion Room--Bron-Yr-Aur. At the Chat, you can get instant answers to most Zep-related questions, and referrals to where you can get even more information, if you need it. The other Newsgroup Rooms have loads of Zep info by fans who actually attend the concerts, and some of which are band acquaintences, so most of the information there is not only pretty reliable, but available before the main fan sites have it, since these same people provide information to those sites.
The AOL Led Zeppelin Newsgroup--Okay, so it's mostly trolled of late with lots of nonsense posts to wade through, and the rest is primarily Led Zep. Okay, so there is a lot of petty squabbling and imposter posting between members. Just don't take anything seriously, and you'll have fun. You often see reviews of concerts before the websites post them, and you'll see the review verbatim. Great to discuss topics concerning our favorite singer, the lyrics, what he and the other guys are up to, the continual debate of WHY DOESN'T ROBERT RE-FORM LED ZEPPELIN ( I agree with Robert--they shouldn't)!!!!!, actual pithy explanations of how to play different numbers, leads of where to get band music and what have you. Lots of silly fun, and usually a great laugh. Just remember---DON'T feed the Trolls! (And no, I don't know who it is--it's just some jerk who keeps changing its name all the time and insulting everyone--ignore it and have fun! Actually, it's lots of fun seeing how upset it gets when we do ignore it!)
The Hermit's Hideaway--a cute new fan site by another gal who does a great job of finding some wonderful pictures. There is a good section on Robert as well as the other Zep members. Many of the pictures are from the Page/Plant tours, so they are newer ones of both Robert and Jimmy. There is even a chatroom for you to use if you like.
I'll add more as I discover them. Leads are always welcomed. Who knows? Maybe this will become another big fan site, someday. Feel free to drop a line. That's the nice thing about owning your own website--you don't get in trouble for adding innocent things to it, and you always have the boss' permission.
http://www.mysticrock.net--some of the best prices I've seen for Led Zeppelin T-Shirts on the web. They also carry some other rock T-shirts and many other neat items you might find interesting. The owner is a big Zep fan, and the inventory shows that.
No, it's not me, but we all could wish, no?
Top side photo--new promotional photo from robertplant.com--lots of great new ones there, folks.
Second two photos from The Robert Plant Homepage. Side: From Letterman 93. Below: From Hurting Kind video.

Great looking bracelet, huh? (Or is that a necklace? Teehee)--Thanks, Shayna!
I know it's an old one, but it was just too cute.
From another fan page...where we gals get these pictures I would really love to know....teehee :D |
